My original design we rejected by the client, and thankfully so, because this second version is a much more polished and elegant design. I also managed to surprise myself and turned the design into a WordPress theme. It was my first time with WordPress, but it was very easy once I learned about Artisteer.

I am finally getting around to doing my own site which will be called g.double.u designs. However, I probably am my own worst customer and want every pixel to be perfect. This means it may still be a while before this design sees the light of day. But I was very please with the About page (shown above) so I thought I should at least share.

This re-design project has been sitting on the shelf for over a year. It is for Static Progress, the online radio station that I used to run. The station had to be taken down due to financial reasons but I really had a lot of fun doing this with my brother Ryan. We had some big name Dj’s, hundreds of listeners and more music than we knew what to do with.

Anyway, we thought of turning the site into a blogging site, but still focused around Dj’s sets. Here is the WordPress theme I came up with… and then totally lost momentum and never implemented it and in fact, forgot about it completely. That was until I was cleaning out my 2010 design folder. I was pleasantly surprised that a year later I still like the design.

One of these days I’ll implement it…
